TGSF has been offered discount tickets to a World Premiere of a Trans play, by a Trans author, starring a Trans actor!
Want to go?
Our usual End of Month get-together is scheduled for Thursday January 28. We could replace dinner at Sparky’s with this performance. Or we could keep Sparky’s and, if a volunteer steps up, organize another night for seeing the play. Which would you prefer?
The play will show at New Conservatory Theatre Center (NCTC) in San Francisco. TGSF would like to organize a group to go see it, but you are free to get individual tickets too.
Write to firstname.lastname@example.org either:
- I’d love to go to this theater piece as a group get-together.
- I prefer January 28 instead of our usual dinner at Sparky’s.
- Or I prefer to keep the Sparky’s event and add this as another TGSF event.
- I (am) (am not) able to help organize it.
- I would prefer the following date for the theater: (date?)
- I would like to go as an individual. I am a supporter of TGSF, so please send the discount code to me.
We will be accepting date information until January 24 or until it looks like tickets are selling out. Requests for discount codes will be given until the end of the run.
From their information:
NCTC (NCTCSF.org) is the premier LGBT-focused theatre in San Francisco. So, it is with much excitement that we are presenting the world premiere of “Sagittarius Ponderosa” which focuses on a transgender lead character, played by a trans-identified actor, and is written by a trans-identified playwright, one of the most acclaimed young writers in the country. This beautiful new play by MJ Kaufman was featured on The 2015 Kilroy List of the most recommended new plays by female and trans* writers.
“Sagittarius Ponderosa” tells the story of Archer (still Angela to his family), whose journey back home to the forests of Eastern Oregon proves to be just the beginning when he meets a handsome stranger at night under the oldest Ponderosa Pine. What follows illuminates the transitions of life and death, the comings and goings of love, and the mysteries of the human heart. It will play at NCTC from Jan 22-Feb 28 with Wed-Sun performances and special pre-show wine tastings on Thursdays.
